Art, including poetry, can be life-changing, especially when it reminds us how precious life is. Having the opportunity to stop and appreciate art like this is one of the greatest joys I have when I’m traveling at the speed of bike. Being in cities that allow art is critical.
By the way, there’s a story about that balloon in my book, Round America with a Duck. It still blows my mind. There are no coincidences. Trust the journey.
